Scream Street is a series of comedy horror books by Tommy Donbavand, published by Walker Books in the UK, and Candlewick Press in the USA.

It’s currently being read in the UK by school children and is proving to be very popular. Joseph Shaw (photo below with his sister Eva) is a big fan of the stories.

Scream street tells the tale of Luke Watson who, after he begins to change into a werewolf, causes his family to be moved to Scream Street – a secure location for vampires, zombies, monsters and more.

Luke quickly makes friends with a young vampire called Resus Negative, and Cleo Farr, an Egyptian mummy.  His parents, however, are terrified of their new neighbours, and Luke sets out to find a way to take them out of Scream Street and back home.

When I visited some friends in the UK recently, Joseph told me all about the series. Here are a few words from Joseph himself on Scream Street:

“I like Scream Street because they are funny and interesting stories, and they have good illustrations.”

Lukeが吸血鬼やミイラ男たちとすぐ友達になる一方で、両親は新しいご近所さんにおびえる毎日。そこでLukeはScreem Streetから出てお家に帰る方法を探しに出るのです。

この本の大ファンであるJoseph君は“ おもしろおかしなストーリーとイラストが大好き！”とオススメしてくれました。

One of the pubs in Nettleham

The village of Nettleham is very quaint, and hosts a church and three pubs, together with a few shops and restaurants. Of course, there’s also a fish & chip shop! Nearby, the city of Lincoln boasts a cathedral that dates back to 1092 AD. There is also a nice shopping area in Lincoln.
